Another year of film has passed and the time has come for another great, yet unpredictable start to the awards season: The 77th Golden Globes! Today, I am sharing my annual predictions for what will win, could win, and deserves to win in the film categories for the weekend. The awards show is on NBC this Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 7:00 PM CST. Make sure to tune in!
“Best Film Drama” The nominees are: Marriage Story,The Irishman, Joker, 1917, and The Two Popes.

“Best Film Drama Actress” The nominees are: Renee Zellweger for Judy, Charlize Theron for Bombshell, Scarlett Johansson for Marriage Story, Saoirse Ronan for Little Women, and Cynthia Erivo for Harriet.

Who could win: Scarlett Johansson
Who deserves to win: Saoirse Ronan
“Best Film Drama Actor” The nominees are: Joaquin Phoenix for Joker, Adam Driver for Marriage Story, Antonio Banderas for Pain and Glory,Jonathan Pryce for The Two Popes, and Christian Bale for Ford v Ferrari.

“Best Film Supporting Actress” The nominees are: Laura Dern for Marriage Story, Kathy Bates for Richard Jewell, Jennifer Lopez for Hustlers, Annette Bening for The Report, and Margot Robbie for Bombshell.
Who will win: Laura Dern (side note: either of these lovely women have a 100% shot at women, so at this point, I'm literally picking who I want to win!)
